I decided to read this book as a part of the Livre D'Amour book club. The title and description of this book had me questioning whether or not I would actually enjoy reading this novel. I am not familiar with the authors and quickly noticed that obtaining this novel was a bit of a challenge. I was fortunate enough to obtain this novel from the Amazon warehouse, however some of the book club members had some trouble locating a copy. My guess is that we struggled to obtained copies since this novel came from a UK based publishing house. However, the hunt for this novel was totally worth it!This novel was extremely interesting from the beginning. I was so drawn in by the first couple of chapters, and I simply could not put the book down. I wanted to keep reading more and more about this amazing story! The future of humanity the authors create gave me anxiety, and I needed to know what the future held for the human race.From the very beginning, I followed the rising tension in this story. I was able to follow the curiosity of the characters and became so invested in the story and interested in the secrets they would unravel. This story read like a movie, and the tension and action was well-crafted and portrayed. I enjoyed every bit of this novel and was excited to know that this novel was the first in the trilogy. I cannot wait to see what is in store for these characters.
You know you've read a fantastic book when you can't get it out of your head days later, then return to re-read the last few perspectives to indulge again. If you're considering giving this a read, do it!I've read a few of Giovanna's books and classify them as great vacation, poolside reads. Light, romantic, and fun. I'm also a fan of young adult novels, particularly dystopian stories, so when I heard both Tom and Gi were writing one, I was already onboard. It took me a few perspectives from Eve and Bram to understand the world that Tom and Gi have so brilliantly crafted, but I became hooked pretty quickly. Eve and Bram are such personable characters that I warmed to both quickly. The best part of this novel for me was not being able to see where it was going. There are little twists and turns here and there, leaving plenty of room for the reader to be pleasantly surprised and emotionally involved. Though this is the first of three books, the end is satisfying with a gripping build-up. It leaves you wanting more without hanging off the edge of a cliff. Overall, a really well done and fresh dystopian novel that may be marked as YA fiction, but surely will be loved by those well out of the genre's age demographic (I'm in my mid-20s!).
I cannot wait for the next book, I also really hope they make this into a movie. Such a great story and one that many people will empathize with and enjoy. A recommended read for young adults and anyone who enjoyed the Hunger Game and Divergent series.
Such a good book!! I was hooked. It usually takes me forever to read a book as I take my time and read slowly, but I finished this in a week - staying up for hours at night because I couldn't put it down! Can't wait for the second book :)
Amazing book! Great characters and plot! The Fletcher’s have written a fantastic futuristic novel that kept me engaged. I would highly recommend this!
